Position: Accounting Specialist
Job Objective:

Established 30+ year-old expanding bookkeeping company specializing in small government entities is looking for a loyal and mature professional who desires to become an Accounting Manager and is excited about working in a highly stable, fast paced and growing industry.

Looking for candidates for the Houston and Conroe offices.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION

Complete Monthly Financial Report for all assigned clients in compliance within established timelines and in accordance with GASB accounting

Post deposits/receipts for all funds and reconcile bank statements for all funds monthly

Reconcile Accounts Receivable, process payroll (including preparation of quarterly 941’s, annual W-2’s, W-3’s, 940’s and 1099’s), process and ensure proper coding of payables, print checks and prepare digital and paper meeting folder for Board Meetings

Respond to requests timely from clients, developers, attorneys, engineers, financial advisors, auditors and other client’s consultants.

Present financials to Board of Directors and be knowledgeable to answers questions

Manage personnel to achieve company and client goals

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Accounting Degree (or the equivalent experience) and at least five years of bookkeeping experience

Must be technically proficient in the digital world and accustomed to processing accounting transactions for multiple entities, QuickBooks, Excel and Word knowledge necessary

Demonstrated ability to consult and work with staff and as a team to determine business requirements, functional requirements and input/output requirements

Ability to develop reports and business correspondence

Demonstrated ability to define and resolve problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

Ability to develop systematic testing plans for problem resolution

Demonstrated ability to work toward short timelines, consistently meet and work as required to resolve problems in order to meet deadlines, which may be impacted by unforeseen problems

Demonstrated ability to work in a calm and professional manner while involved in high volume transactions and stressful situations
Desire to work with professionals and communicate at a Board of Director level
